I had no experience in physics and it was very doable. Emphasis on relativity the last 3 weeks which is pretty interesting. Oct 14th, A silly professor past his prime. His arrogance and subjectivity show up where they hurt the most:on exams. Even the TA's don't agree with this man.
Go take a fair and at least an interesting science class. Sep 17th, This is for Why is the Sky Blue? He is a really nice guy, and he really cares about making sure that the class is basic, for the people who are not really into science. Overall an interesting class. Oct 29th, Textbook: No. He is a really nice guy, but his class is really hard. This class should not be worth one credit. It takes too much of your time. Not a fair class overall.
Really like the guy, though. Dec 13th, Genuinly tries to interact, which for a big class at Cornell is saying something. Liken him to a less comedic version George Carlin. Dec 9th, A little too much work for one credit but the class was very interesting. Nov 7th, What physical laws govern motions on these different length scales? Our class will approach this question from an experiential point of view making use of in class demonstrations, movies, and extracurricular projects where students will construct simple experiments.
The course is aimed to spark the curiosity of the general non-science student to engage with and explore the world around them.

But what makes the sea blue — is it reflecting the blue of the sky? Water molecules are good at absorbing longer wavelengths of light, so when sunlight hits the water the reds and oranges get absorbed. The shorter wavelength blue light is absorbed very little and much of it is reflected back to our eyes. This article has been written by an astronomer at the Royal Observatory, Greenwich.
