When do the strawhats reunite

Unfortunately, things go from bad to worse for the Straw Hats, as Bartholomew Kuma -- the warlord the Pacafistas are modeled after-- arrives on the scene, his intentions unclear. So, as much as all of them wanted to reunite, they all came to the realization that they needed to get stronger on their own.

With this in mind, Luffy discreetly messaged hi crew, signaling them to spend the next two years apart in order to train and grow stronger for their reunion on Soabody. The cat burglar and navigator, Nami, spent the two years on the artificial sky island, Weatheria, learning to use the sky wizards' advanced weather manipulating technology and studying the strange and unpredictable weather patterns of the New World.

Even the exhibitionist cyborg, Franky, managed to find the infamous Dr. Vegapunk's research lab, where he studied the doctor's technology to give himself the perfect cyborg upgrade. It takes more than might to survive the New World and the resolve that Luffy and his crew showed by having the restraint to stay apart to grow stronger is what makes their eventual reunion feel so rewarding.

Their first fight with Jinbe as part of the crew was their initial entry to Onigashima , but things quickly fell into chaos as Luffy and the others made their way to Momonosuke and Kaido. Chapter of the series laid the foundation for their reunion as each of their respective paths collided together in an equally hilarious and epic way. After Franky surprisingly saved Nami from Big Mom's counterattack, it was revealed that Brook had come along with him as well.

Meanwhile, Jinbe and Robin sneak their way towards the battle as they are two members of the crew who are still hiding their identities among the Beasts Pirates. At the same time Franky and Big Mom are going to clash, giant beasts known as the Numbers arrive while holding the Brachio Tank with Chopper and Usopp inside.

Luffy tries to Gum Gum Rocket his way up to the top of the dome where Kaido and the Akazaya Nine are starting their fight , and Zoro suddenly arrives to hitch a ride. As well as improving his shooting, Usopp found a fascinating new ammunition in the form of Pop Greens.

These seeds allow Usopp to fire plant weapons such as bamboo javelins and man-eating fly-traps, and he would master their usage during the 2-years spent alongside Heracles. Usopp's never-ending supply of Pop Greens is explained by a garden on the Thousand Sunny where he grows new seeds. Of all the Straw Hat Pirates, Chopper 's 2-year training period is perhaps the most basic. Kuma apparently knew the Tanuki was a doctor rather than a pet because Chopper was sent straight to the Torino Kingdom, where he befriended both the animal and human populations and resolved a conflict between the two.

As reward for his good deeds, Chopper was led to a library full of medical books about rare plants with healing properties. Spending his time studying, Chopper became a much better doctor, but didn't neglect his battle abilities either. Previously, Chopper was unable to control the giant monster form triggered by his Devil Fruit and Rumble Ball combination, but post-time skip, Chopper uses the transformation at will.

The cotton candy lover also develops a new Kung-Fu mode, blows up his antlers for Horn Point, and gets a fancy new hat. Nico Robin landed in Tequila Wolf, where she was immediately captured and enslaved along with the local population. Kuma didn't intend for Robin to suffer, he simply must've known the Revolutionary Army planned to liberate the island. Monkey D. Dragon's gang readily accepted Robin due to her connection with Luffy and reputation as an enemy of the World Government.

Robin spent her 2 years helping other subjugated territories alongside the Revolutionaries, but One Piece doesn't reveal any specific training she undertook during this period. After the time-skip, however, Robin is able to use her Hana-Hana Fruit to bloom larger limbs, pairs of wings and even entire clones. The World Government's mysterious scientific genius, Dr. Vegapunk, still hasn't appeared in One Piece , but his presence looms large over the New World. Since Vegapunk was responsible for transforming Kuma into a Pacifista, the big bear knew the visionary creator was someone Franky could learn from.

Obviously, Kuma couldn't send a Straw Hat straight into Marine territory, so he picked the next best thing - Vegapunk's old lab on Karakuri Island. After accidentally detonating the facility, Franky discovered a hidden lab beneath the first, where he studied Vegapunk's old blueprints to improve his engineering skills. The Straw Hat shipwright also made a number of personal modifications, upgrading himself into BF, which comes complete with lasers, tank treads, fireballs and, best of all, nipple lights.

While on Karakuri Island, Franky also built General Franky BF - a mech unit with enhanced weapons and a beastly sword that he can occupy like a suit of armor. While most of the Straw Hats used their 2-year break to train, Brook decided to live out his rockstar fantasies instead. Initially, Brook landed on Namakura Island, home to a group of occultists who adopt Brook as their demonic leader. This might've been why Kuma chose Namakura as Brook's destination, but the plan failed, and the musician was taken hostage by the local Longarm tribe, who used him as a side show.

Realizing Brook was worth more outside of the cage, the Longarms gave their prisoner his "Soul King" alter ego and the Straw Hat became a musical sensation on the Grand Line, with the Longarms taking a cut of the profits.
